In the last few months we have been busy with association formalities and laying the groundwork for the PrimaFeira 2024. Even though the Municipalities of Viseu and Mangualde showed willingness to co-fund the event and we all want it to happen again, it has become clear that the association lacks the capacity to organize the event in 2024.
On March 10th Ruralisar held it's annual General Assembly and in this meeting it was decided to temporarily suspend the activities of the association and consequentially not organize the PrimaFeira in 2024. The association currently has 8 members, which means we are one member short to fill the positions in the governing bodies. We think it is best not to rush the integration of new members and to take the time make sure that those who join on the level of the governing bodies can really benefit from and contribute to the association.
The current members will continue to be associated with Ruralisar and organize future steps together. Our task for 2024 is to have conversations about the direction of the association and to talk with people for whom it might be of value to be part of Ruralisar. If all goes well and we can start up again our intention is to organize the PrimaFeira again in 2025
For now we want to express our GRATITUDE to all the partners, friends and colleagues who we have worked with since the foundation of Ruralisar. It has been a pleasure and interesting working with you and we hope to reconnect in the future!
